Extra transparency for Google Health, health-related proof, and wellness data.

Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice

Last updated: June 10, 2026

This notice explains how Main Character LLC handles consumer health data. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

Main Character is a habit, proof, and personal progress product. It is not medical care, medical advice, a medical device, or an emergency service.

Quick read

  • Google Health is optional.
  • Current Google Health sync reads only activity and fitness metrics used for automated habit proof: steps, active zone minutes, distance, and total calories.
  • We do not sell consumer health data.
  • We do not use consumer health data for ads, data brokers, credit or lending decisions, medical decisions, or AI model training.
  • You can disconnect Google Health. When you do, we remove local health credentials where possible and delete the imported Google Health proof data tied to that connection.
  • You can request deletion of your account or health-related information at maincharacter.game/account/delete.

What counts as consumer health data here

For this notice, consumer health data means information that could identify you and relates to health, fitness, wellness, activity, sleep, calories, body state, medical care, or similar health-related status.

We treat these as sensitive:

  • Google Health data;
  • health-metric proof rules;
  • health-related check-ins;
  • health-related media, audio, transcripts, captions, labels, and analysis metadata;
  • wearable, mobile, integration, or device metadata related to health proof.

We do not intentionally collect medical records from hospitals, doctors, insurers, or pharmacies.

Where it comes from

We may receive consumer health data from:

  • you, when you create habits, tasks, proof, notes, media, audio, or support requests;
  • Google Health, if you choose to connect it;
  • mobile or wearable companion features you choose to use;
  • connected sources or webhooks you authorize;
  • derived processing inside the Service, such as summaries, transcripts, captions, labels, and proof status.

Why we use it

We use consumer health data only to:

  • provide habit tracking, health-metric proof, progress history, trends, and recaps;
  • let you use connected health, mobile, or wearable features you authorize;
  • operate AI-assisted features you choose to use, except that Google Health data is not used for model training;
  • secure the Service, prevent abuse, debug sync issues, and maintain reliability;
  • respond to your support, privacy, or deletion requests;
  • comply with law and enforce our Terms.

How we share it

We share consumer health data only when needed for the purposes above:

  • with service providers that help operate the Service, such as hosting, storage, database, security, observability, support, and AI infrastructure providers;
  • with integrations you connect and actions you authorize;
  • with other people only when you choose to make related profile, proof, or content public;
  • if required for legal, safety, security, fraud prevention, or rights-protection reasons;
  • as part of a business transfer when legally permitted and subject to applicable notice or consent requirements.

We do not sell consumer health data. We do not share consumer health data for advertising, retargeting, data-broker products, creditworthiness, lending, insurance underwriting, employment decisions, or medical decisions.

Google Health-specific limits

Google Health access is governed by Google's permission screen and Google's policies, including the Google API Services User Data Policy. We request only the Google Health permissions needed for current user-facing features. We do not request future scopes before a feature exists.

If you disconnect Google Health, we revoke or delete local tokens where possible and delete imported observations, summaries, pending sync jobs, proof rules, and completion evidence tied to that Google Health source.

Your choices

You can:

  • choose not to connect Google Health;
  • disconnect Google Health in Main Character settings;
  • manage Google permissions in your Google account;
  • delete or edit content where product controls are available;
  • disable public profile visibility;
  • request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of information through our contact form;
  • request account deletion at maincharacter.game/account/delete.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We try to respond within 30 days, though verification, legal requirements, or complex requests may take longer. We may retain limited information when required or permitted for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud prevention, dispute, or backup reasons.
